Explore what’s new in version 8.08. ### **Introducing Modern Look - A Redesigned POS Experience** TRAY 8.08 introduces Modern Look, a redesigned POS interface offering a more intuitive and customizable ordering experience. Modern Look delivers a refreshed interface while maintaining the same underlying TRAY functionality, including menus, checks, payments, staff permissions, and reporting. ### What’s New? - **Redesigned Ordering Screen:** An updated cart, improved menu navigation, and more flexible display options. - **New Queue Management:** A redesigned Queue replaces the traditional Checks list, with improved filtering, sorting, and visibility of open and recently closed checks. - **Customizable Interface:** Personalize the POS with different themes, adjustable text sizes, menu layouts, and display preferences. - **Improved Manager Functions:** A reorganized screen provides easier access to reports, cash management, device settings, and administrative tools. - **Flexible Interface Selection:** Switch between Standard Look and Modern Look based on your preference. Enhanced Menu & Pricing Management Version 8.08 introduces greater flexibility in configuring menus, managing product variations, and controlling pricing through TRAY HQ. ### Product Size Configuration Restaurants can now configure product sizes, such as Small, Medium, and Large, and link them to compatible modifier groups. Selecting a size can automatically apply the corresponding size to related combo items, simplifying order customization. ### Scheduled Pricing Pricing schedules now support future effective dates, allowing restaurants to configure upcoming price changes in advance. Scheduled prices automatically take effect on their specified dates. ### Linked Products A new Linked Products feature allows related menu items to be grouped together. Staff can switch between linked products, such as different sizes or variations, directly from the POS without returning to the main menu. ### Flexible Modifier Pricing Modifier groups now support threshold-based pricing, allowing restaurants to offer a specified number of selections at no additional charge. Additional selections are automatically charged according to their configured prices. ### Additional Improvements The release also introduces enhanced combo configurations, item-level modifier display options, and corrections to modifier handling and pricing accuracy. 3\. Restaurant Operations & Cash Management TRAY 8.08 introduces improvements to daily restaurant operations, cash handling, and end-of-day management. ### New Manager Checklist A redesigned Manager Checklist provides a structured overview of essential end-of-day activities, including open checks, tills, active employees, bank deposits, and daily summaries. The checklist helps managers review outstanding activities before completing their daily operations. ### Redesigned Till Management The updated Till Management functionality introduces additional controls for cash drawer operations, including cashier assignments, till suspension and resumption, cash counting, and manager verification. A new Till Events Report in TRAY HQ provides detailed visibility into cash drawer activities and transactions. ### Enhanced Order Firing Modes New and improved firing modes provide greater control over when orders are sent to the kitchen. The release introduces an Immediately firing option and updates Fire On Next to send the previous item when a new item is added. ### Summary Server Checkout Report A new simplified Server Checkout Report provides an overview of sales, taxes, payments, and cash reconciliation. The report is available directly from the POS in both Cloud Mode and Local Mode, allowing staff to access checkout information even during connectivity interruptions. ### Automatic Receipt Printing Restaurants can now enable automatic receipt printing when a check is paid in full, eliminating the additional printing prompt. ### Staff Login Improvements Signing in to another POS device using the same staff quick code now automatically ends the previous device session, helping maintain consistent staff access across terminals. 4\. E-Invoicing Improvements TRAY 8.08 introduces enhancements to electronic invoicing, including improved offline transaction synchronization and invoice processing reliability. ### Phase II Offline Synchronization Phase II e-invoice transactions recorded in Local Mode are automatically submitted when connectivity to Cloud Mode is restored. QR codes are not generated for these transactions while the device remains in Local Mode. ### Additional Improvements - Improved access-token renewal. - Additional retry mechanisms for QR-code retrieval. - Improved handling of failed e-invoice submissions. - Corrections to invoice unit prices for orders containing priced modifiers. These enhancements improve transaction synchronization and electronic invoice processing reliability. 5\. Deliverect Integration Improvements Version 8.08 introduces additional functionality and reliability improvements for restaurants using Deliverect. ### Channel Partner Mapping Restaurants can now map orders based on their delivery channel partner in addition to their order type. This allows orders from different delivery platforms to be directed to different services within TRAY. ### Improved Order & Tax Accuracy Several corrections improve the accuracy of imported delivery orders, including: - Tax calculations for orders containing multiple quantities. - Differences between Deliverect and TRAY tax calculations. - Rounding discrepancies on fully paid orders. - Missing totals in order summaries. These improvements support more consistent order values and financial reporting across integrated delivery channels. 6\. Inventory Management Improvements TRAY 8.08 introduces more flexibility when recording inventory counts and waste. ### Flexible Unit Selection Restaurants can now record inventory quantities using either inventory units or purchase units, where both are configured. TRAY automatically converts the entered quantities to the corresponding inventory unit, eliminating the need for manual conversions. Additional corrections improve the accuracy of waste entries and associated costs. 7\. Performance & Reliability Improvements TRAY 8.08 includes performance optimizations and reliability improvements across POS, KDS, and TRAY HQ. ### Performance & Stability Backend optimizations improve HQ responsiveness, report generation, menu publishing, and administrative operations.
