Service Charges allow for configuration of suggested tips, as well as behaviors related to tipping, closing checks, etc. If your location is accepting tips that are entered by guests, this is where you would configure the default percentages. (i.e. 10%, 15%, 18%, custom amounts).

Adding a Service Charge
Service charges are automatically created when a service is added to a site, either via adding a new service, importing a service, or pushing it from the node.
Editing a Service Charge
Press the Edit button next to the applicable service charge. See the image below for the available configurations on a service charge

| SERVICE TYPE | The name of the Service |
| ORDER MINIMUM | Indicate the minimum amount required for an order |
| TIP LOW % | The low tip % that is displayed on the customer facing tip display and on the guest receipt |
| TIP MEDIUM % | The middle tip % that is displayed on the customer facing tip display and on the guest receipt |
| TIP HIGH % | The high tip % that is displayed on the customer facing tip display and on the guest receipt |
| TIP DEFAULT | Set what the default selection is for the customer facing tip display. This value will be the one selected by default. For example if your low medium and high are 10 15 and 18, respectively, but the tip default is set to "Low" then 10 would be highlighted by default on the customer facing tip display |
| TIP ALERT % | Optional percentage to indicate a warning if the tip exceeds a designated percentage of the total order amount that would then need to be authorized by a manager |

| SKIP TIP | If selected, this service would skip any tip prompts |
| TAB AUTO CLOSE | If selected, a check will automatically be closed to a System Tender at the end of the trading day |
